Holyoake, announced yesterday that the tallow contract with the United Kingdom Ministry of Food had been renewed for a further year from October 1, 1950. to August 30, 1951. FEAR COMPLEX “I heard of a teacher recently who resigned and gave as the reason for his resignation that teachers were afraid of the headmaster; the headmaster was afraid of the inspectors and the board, the board was afraid of the department, the department was afraid of the Minister, the Minister was afraid of the people; the people were afraid of the children, and the children weren’t afraid of anyone,” said the chairman of the Canterbury Education Board (Mr. A. E. Lawrence) speaking at the annual meeting of the Canterbury School Committees’ Association.
