Response In Gisborne And East Coast Areas
Residents of the Gisborne and the East Coast districts did their share towards the success of the National Development Loan flotation. Banks with branches in Gisborne and in coastal centres handled a large volume of applications, and business this week in connection with the loan was particularly heavy. Small investors who made their applications through the Chief Post Office at Gisborne and at main post offices throughout the districts rolled up a substantial volume of contributions, and during the past three days they made an especially good response 1o the recommendations of various financial authorities on behalf of the flotation. Wednesday was one of the best days of the campaign period, at the Gisborne office, and yesterday saw another big volume of business.
