FAREWELL SOCIAL AT WAERENGA-A-HIKA

Despite counter attraction* there was a good attendance of dancing enthusiasts at the Ormond Hall recentlv. Organised by the IVaercnga-a-hika" Sports Club, the social gave residents an opportunity of farewelling Mr. and Mrs J. Forshaw. who have been “mine hosts” at the Waerenga-a-hika Hotel for a number of years, and are leaving the district shortly. Mr. Forshaw has beer, on energetic worker on the sports Committee since its inception. During the evening the Rev. ,T. Ta! bot expressed regret at the departure of Mr. and Mrs. Forshaw and made the presentation of a silver tray and silver tea service. He wished Mr. and Mrs. Forshaw every success in their new sphere. After being accorded musical honours, the recipients suitably responded.

A dainty supper was served by the ladies committee. A feature of the supper tables was the beautiful floral decorations.
