M. Roger Garreau, the outgoing president of the United Nations Trusteeship Council reported to the council today that its plan for internationalising Jerusalem was "seriously compromised” by the apparent lack of support in Israel and Jordan. He said the virtual boycott of his work by tiie Jordanian Government had completely deadlocked the recent negotiations on Jerusalem’s future.

M. Garreau had been given the task of consulting the Israeli and Jordanian Governments .about the possibility of enforcing a statute of internationalisation.
