GISBORNE FIRST IN N.Z. TO REACH SAVINGS QUOTA
For the first time since the national savings campaigns were introduced on a yearly basis. Gisborne is the first postal district headquarters to complete its quota for the financial year. This achievement was acknowledged yesterday by the national organiser of the campaign, who forwarded his congratulations to the district committee and staff.
For the year which began on April 1, 1950, this district was allotted a target figure of £75.868. With almost 10 months to go. the target has been reached, and Gisborne investors who have shown a keen appreciation of the national savings plan for short-term investment can now give their attention to multiplying the quota as in previous years.
