Marjorie Jackson Sets World Record
SYDNEY, April 1. Australia’s champion sprinter, Marjorie Jackson, set a world’s 100 yards women’s record of 10.7 seconds at Newcastle last night. She clipped onetenth of a second off the previous record which she shared with the famed Dutchwoman, Mrs. Fanny Blankers-Koen.
Miss Jackson had not been training seriously and ran on a slightly uphill track.
