Britain Hands Over Somaliland To Italy
flO a..m) LONDON. April 2, Thousands of people yesterday watched the lowering of the Union Jack and the raising of the Italian banner at Mogadishu as the administration of Italian Somaliland under the United Nations trusteeship was handed over to Italy. The ceremony marked the close of almost 10 years of British administration which began when the territory was occupied early in the war.
