DEAN’S TRIBUTE TO LATE MR. EARLE
(PA.) WELLINGTON.'’March 30. All great papers in the United Kingdom were associated with names great!v resnaeted in public affairs. Scott, of the Manchester Guardian, and Wickham of (lie Times for example, said Dean D J Davies in paying a tribut-- to ’h" ’ate Mr. C W. Earle at the funeral service at St. Paul's Cathedral Church today Men sunh as these had indebted the whole nation to them, he said, and in Wellington today thev were oaving then last tribute to a man who brought as a hign a spirit and character to life as anv in New Zealand. Mourners at the service included the Prime Minister. Mr. S G. Holland, the Leader of the Opposition. Mr. P. Fraser. representatives of newspapers, the New Zea<and Journalists' Association, business community and other organisations with which Mr Earle was con nected The pall bearers were directors and members of the staff of the Dominion.
