VOLUNTEER FIGHTING FIRE IN SCRUB HURT
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 31
A Wellington fireman was seriously injured while fighting an extensive brush fire at Kaiwarra yesterday. Only strenuous work by many firemen prevented the blaze from sweeping among the naval oil tanks at Kaiwarra. The fireman injured is:— Mr. Percy Eddy, of Khandallah, a volunteer.
He received injuries to his spine and suffered shock when he fell on a steep hillside. Mr. Eddy was carrying a heavy, wet hose away from the fast spreading area of the fire when he f«!L
