Tent Housing Four Burnt In Early Morning Blaze

A tent accommodating a man and his wife and two children was completely destroyed by tire in Gisborne early this morning. It was occupied by Mr. and Mrs. D. Rangi in Crawford Road. Their loss is understood to be in the vicinity of £2O. The tent was situated with two others at the rear of a section. It is believed to have caught alight from a candle. „ . „ , The Gisborne Fire Brigade was called at 2.30 a.m., but the outbreak had been quelled with buckets of water when the brigade arrived. The family were able to spend the remainder of the morning in one of the other tents.
