ENTERTAINMENT FOR EMPIRE GAMES TEAMS

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 17. Members of Iho visiting Empire Games teams do not have many chances to become bored for lack of entertainment judging by the plans made by the Games entertainment sub-committee. The committee aims to take every team on a sight-seeing trip around Auckland within a clay or two of their arrival. During the trip visitors call on the Mayor, Mr. J. A. G. Allum, for a cup of ten. Many invitations to private entertainment have been received by the chairman of the committee, Mr. F. G. Lintotl, but how many, can be accepted depends on the amount of time officials are prepared to let athletes have free from training. The Canadians and Fijians, the only visitors in the Games village of Ardmore, were taken on a sight-seeing trip and entertained at a picnic organised by the Auckland Athletic Centre have also been invited to attend the Auckland swimming championships at the Olympic Pool, the centennial yacht regatta on .January 28 and 30 and a race meeting at Ellcrslie on the same dates.
