REST ROOM PROPOSALS
Sir, —I am very pleased that Mr. George Brown wrote criticising what someone proposed to do against the Maori women having _ the same rest place as their white sisters. What is the use of us saying unity and of gleaning Maori legends, etc., or writing that Bishop Bennett says: “Take the pakeha by the hand and walk forward into the future with him in confidence for the good of both races. That is the only way in which our common destiny can be achieved. ’ What is the use of Maori soldiers helping us to fight for freedom if their women cannot use such a common necessary place as a rest room? PAKEHA WOMAN WHO ADMIRES THE MAORI.
