FIRM RATES RULE FOR MORRINSVILLE STOCK
The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., reports that at the weekly stock sale held at Morrinsville on Friday an average yarding of fat sheep again comprised principally lambs. Competition for all classes was keen, and here also very firm rates were obtained. A medium entry of fat and boner cows showed a further advance in values. The offering of yearling Jersey heifers was keenly sought and prices were very firm. Another large yarding of dairy cattle comprised principally heifers. Top quality cattle again met a keen sale and recent firm rates for this class were fully maintained, up to £2B being paid for two choice springers. Values for poorer classes were inclined to ease. The offering of cows was in keen demand and realised very satisfactory prices. A larger yarding of all classes of pigs was penned the bulk of the entry beingstores and buttermilk pigs, very few baconers and porkers coming forward. Baconers and porkers remained firm, but stores and buttermilk pigs were in very keen demand.
