APPLICATIONS FOR CLUB CHARTERS REGULATED
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 15. Formal applications for club charters from the Licensing Control Commission must be lodged in the form prescribed by the regulations and clubs seeking charters must also advertise their intention in the newspapers.
This information was given in a reply to an inquiry on the effect of the licensing regulations (1949) Gazetted last Thursday. Those so far sent In by clubs cannot be recognised by the commission, it was stated by the secretary of the commission. The stipulation regarding the newspaper advertisement gave the public an opportunity to be heard on the question of granting any charter.
