ATOMIC ENERGY AS INDUSTRIAL POWER
ADELAIDE, Aug. 15.
The Federal Government’s next big step in atomic work would be in the development of industrial power fromatomic energy, said the Minister ot Post-War Reconstruction, Mr. J. J. Dedman, in a public address in Adelaide.
He had in mind a long-range plan which he was considering putting before Cabinet. Alter obtaining ore the vast amount of work to be done would fall almost entirely within the Federal Government’s responsibility. He had recently discussed the problems of this work with Professor M. Oliphant. He stressed that the proposed work had nothing to do with atom bombs as Australia was too small country for such work.
