HILL COUNTRY W.D.F.F. MEETS IN MATAWAI
(Herald Corresnon’dent.i The annual meeting of the hill country branch of the W.D.F.F. on Saturday afternoon. Miss McLean presiding over a good attendance of members. She welcomed the visitors, Mrs. E. R. Black and Mrs. Osmond and members of the hill-countrv branch. Mrs. A. Richmond gave a comprehensive report of the conference and received a heartv vote of thanks. Deep regret was expressed at the departure in the near future of Mrs. Robert Shaw, a valued member.
The total membership of this progressive federation is 500 junior branches and 636 senior. There are no mortgages on anv of its popular rest homes, and the housekeeper scheme is verv successful. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mrs. A. Richmond for her report. Afternoon tea concluded a very interesting and instructive meeting.
