SATURDAY’S INDOOR BASKETBALL PLAY
One of the best exhibitions for some time was seen at the Army Hall on Saturday morning when the Wolverines women’s A grade indoor basketball team suffered their first reverse of the season at the hands of Tuis. Rovers never looked like a winning side in their match with Zig Zags, the latter team playing good basketball. Sioux were too quick off the mark for Panthers in a men’s A Grade match, and after the first quarter dominated play. The Tigers-M.I.A. match was full of interest, the teamwork of Tigers being the deciding factor. Results: Men. —Tigers 21 d. M.I.A. 17; Sioux 45 d. Panthers 14. Women. —Tuis 32 d. Wolverines 31; Power Board 2 d. P.W.D. nil; Rovers 20 d. Zig Zag 6.
