FINALS OF No. 5 ARCHERY TROPHIES
Top scorers in the final round of the Gisborne Archery Club’s No. 5 trophy competition for first-year members were Miss Heeney, a B grade competitor, who returned the excellent score of 343, and a new member, N. Morley, who shooting for his second time, was runner-up to Miss Heeney with 321.
An unusual feature in the A grade section was the fact that B. Foote and G. Odams shared the honours for top position with a score of 329 eachMiss Heeney won the B grade trophy, and R. Forbes the A grade trophy. Miss Briffault was an outstanding competitor in the Wednesday night No. 5 trophy competition and G. Wootton, with a fine back shoot of 490 won the men’s trophy. Top scorers were Mrs. Moore in the women's section and W. J. Burton in the men’s section.

MR. A. A. COATES, a lawyer, who has lived in Onehunga for the past 20 years and has taken an active and prominent part in local affairs, will be the National Party candidate for the Onehunga seat at the general election.
