FOG PREVENTS PLANE LANDING AT NAPIER

Dense fog over the Gisborne district this morning did not affect the departure of the usual passenger planes for northern and southern centres. The aircraft flying to Tauranga and Auckland met with no difficulties, but owing to the density of the fog at Napier the southward-bound plane did not attempt to land there, and flew direct to Palmerston North, where a landing was effected without difficulty. The planes flying to Gisborne from Auckland and Wellington adhered to their 'scheduled timetables.
