SOVIET BAN EASED ON WEST MONEY ON RAIL TRAVEL
(11 a.m.) _ BERLIN, April 7. The Russians today partly relaxed their ban on the Berlin Western mark, reports the Associated Press. The Russian licensed German news agency ADN announced that from today, as a favour to Western Berliners who often had no Eastern money to pay for their tickets, the Russian-controlled railways would accept West marks as well as East marks on the Western sector stations.
The agency said this also applied to the Berlin elevated system and railway traffic to points in the Eastern zone.
