Bruce Levy, director of the Grasslands Division, told farmers in the Bon Accord on Tuesday night that hay lost 30 per cent, of its dry matter when put into the bale and 50 per cent- by the time it was used for feed. The food value was not as good as if it were “chewed up in the paddock.”
