“PEACE CABINET” MAY BE FORMED IN NANKING

The Chinese President, General Li Tsung-jen, was asked by General Ho Ying-chin to return to Nanking from Shanghai for urgent consultations following Dr- Sun Fo’s resignation as Premier. All the Nanking newspapers tipped the appointment of General Ho as the new Premier. Dr. Sun Fo has led the no-surrender group within the Chinese Nationalist Government, General Li Tsung-jen heads the group which is seeking peace talks with the Chinese Communists. The newspapers believe the next Cabinet will be a peace Cabinet. In a report to the Legislative Yuan today, Dr. Sun Fo said that General Ho had been appointed to organise a commission to carry out the reorganisation of the armies, reducing them for peace. Other Nationalist bridgeheads on the north bank are reported to be quiet.
