FINE FEATHERS MAKE 50 CENT BIRDS
MOMBASA, South Africa. After the failure of the usual methods to combat the plague of crows, the Zanzibar Government recently offered a reward of 10 cents for each crow's egg and 50 cents for every live crow A native boy who arrived at the paying office with a basket of crows’ eggs was told to wait. While he was waiting the eggs hatched, and the boy demanded 50 cents for each crow. He was paid, but the terms of the reward have now been altered —for 50 cents a crow must have feathers.
