Canterbury Theatre Players’ Tour Of Australia Popular
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Mar. 8. Twenty-one Canterbury student players returned in the Monowai today after a three months’ theatrical tour in Australia.
Miss Ngaio Marsh, the producer, returned with them. In three months the players gave 140 performances. The plays included Shakespeare's Othello and also “Six Characters in Search of an Author” and “The Skin of Our Teeth.”
"The tour was an unqualified success,’’ Miss Marsh said. She added that similar Australian companies might tour New Zealand.'
Four Canterbury University College students had already gone to England to further their dramatic or technical studies for the theatre.
Miss Marsh is going to England in June or July to attend the publication of her latest book.
