COUNTRY SPORTS NGATAPA CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING
Under ideal weather conditions, the annual meeting of the Ngatapa Sports Club attracted a keenly interested gathering of competitors and spectators on Saturday to the grounds placed at the disposal of the club by Mr. P. Mitford. The events were well patronised and competition was keen.
Horse events apart from pony and children's classes were judged by Mr. A. Dever, and pony and children's events by Mr. P. Scammell, both judges giving every satisfaction.
The Open Cup, presented by Mr. A. H. Russell for the competitor gaining most points in all events, was won by R. Lange; the local competitors’ cup presented by Mr. F. E. Humphreys by J. Mclldowie; Mr. J. Jobson’s cup for the open jumping by P. Scammell; Mr. H. M. White’s cup for local jumpers by G. Moore; and Mr. C. F. Horne’s cup for juvenile competitors by S. Dods.
