SIR PETER BUCK: MAORI WELCOME AT POHO-O-RAWIRI
Recent developments in connection with the visit of Sir Peter Buck to Gisborne, in the course of his tour of New Zealand before leaving on his return to Honolulu, have resulted in a change in arrangements for his reception.
This will now be ■' conducted by Ihe Maori people of Gisborne, Wairoa, and East Coast districts at Poho-o-Rawiri, and the public function at the Opera House which was included in the original arrangements has been cancelled. Representative Europeans will take part in the Poho-o-Rawiri function, it is expected. Sir Peter ! will reach Gisborne on Saturday by aeroplane, travelling from New Plymouth and arriving at Darton Field aerodrome between 5 p.m- and 6 p.m. Following his welcome at the Kaiti pa he will deliver his illustrated lecture on recent researches in Micronesia in the meeting-house there.
