A chain of rocket bases has been built along the entire nonth-western border of Russia and on the Estonian islands of Dago, Osel, Runo, Nargcn and Moon, according to the newspaper Stockholm Tidningen. The Russian construction of rocket bases and airfields and the reinforcing of the Baltic garrisons since last autumn arc- all part of the “cold war” being waged against Scandinavia, said the newspaper. "Last December Russian garrisons in the Lapland and Pctsamo areas - received reinforcements from Murmansk. Reinforcements also arrived in the Soviet Republic of Karelia which borders Finland.
The newspaper added that new roads are being built, including one from Murmansk to Petrozavodsk, the capital of the Karelian Republic. The Finnish Prime Minister, M. Fagerholm, declared in a broadcast on the Stockholm radio that Finland had no intention of joining either the Atlantic Pact or the Scandinavian Pact. He denied the recent accusations in the Soviet press that Finland had entered into engagements with the Western Powers.
