RECENT BRIDE WEARS OLD-WORLD GOWN
Picturesque in an old-world gown, Miss Norma Humphreys, daughter o£ Mr. and Mrs. H, Humphreys, Dunedin, was married recently at Holy Trinity Church to Mr, John McCallum, son of Mrs. McCallum and the late Mr. T. McCallum, Stout street. The Rev. John Talbot was the officiating minister, and Mr. D. G. Dyer the organist. The bride had chosen marquisette over satin, fashioned with pin-tucked yoke edged with needle-point lace which was repeated in the peplurn. Needlepoint fashioned the becoming headdress, from which fell a French embroidered veil of fine tulle. The bride carried an exquisite trailing bouquet of white lilies and roses. She was escorted by her father.
The bridesmaids, Miss Anne Nieper, Dunedin, and Miss Jean McCallum, Gisborne, _ sister of the bridegroom, wore matching frocks of turquoise marquisette over satin designed on similar oldworld lines. Their head-dresses and bouquets were of deep red roses. The bridegroom was'assisted by Mr. Ralph Taylor as best man and Mr. Andrew McCallum as groomsman. The bride's mother received her guests at the Bon Accord wearing a suit and picture hat of black, offset with turquoise accessories. She was assisted by Mrs. T, McCallum in chartreuse with brown accessories.
Musical items were given by the Misses Olive and Ellice Nieper, Dunedin, piano duet, and Miss Dora Leslie, also of Dunedin, violin solo.
The wedding guests were later entertained at the home of Mrs. G. F. Humphreys, Stout street. The bride wore for travelling an ensemble of pale blue with parma violet accessories. Mr and Mrs. John McCallum will make their home in Gisborne.
