Heavy Australian Exports To Britain

(11.30 a.m.) CANBERRA, Mar. 7. Australia sent Britain more primary produce last year than any other country but New Zealand outdid her in butler, cheese, mutton, lamb, pork and powdered milk, according to the Minister of Commerce and Agriculture, Mr. R. T. Pollard.

She said that in the year ended December 31 Aus .alia supplied Britain with £150,500,000 w<Tth of primary goods, not including supp’ies -Aippeu through the British -llmist’-y of Food to other countries or unshipped wheat. Figures for other countries were:— Canada £126,900,000, Argentina £llß,000,000, New Zealand £105,500,000, India £71,500,000 and the United States £68,000,000.

Australia was Britain’s greatest supplier of wool, canned meats and canned fruits, and second greatest supplier of butter, powdered milk, wheat, Hour, barley, beef, veal, pork, wine, dried fruits, jam and poultry. New Zealand monopolised the United Kingdom market with the following percentages of total procurement, Australian percentages being mentioned last: Butter 50 (27), cheese 53 (11), mutton and lamb (68 (11), pork 85 (15), powdered milk 60 (14).
