ROMAN CATHOLIC BISHOP RESIGNS
(P.A.) DUNEDIN, Mar. 7. The resignation of the Bishop of Dunedin, the Most Rev. Dr. H. J. O’Neill, was announced in all Roman Catholic diocesan churches yesterday. In order to resign the bishop must petition the Holy See, permission being given only by the Pope. His Holiness, who lias accepted the resignation on account of Bishop O’Neill’s ill-health, has directed that the vacancy be filled.
