Art Treasures Bring £7575
Art treasures from the estate of Miss E Cooper, of Gisborne, sold by Dunbai Sloane in Wellington last week, realised £7575. During the second day of the sale a large Sevres vase brought ±-liU, an' Empire mahogany table was sold for £IOO and some Persian rugs brought from £45 to £7O each. A string of real pearls was passed in at 81’0gns., the Dresden pieces were keenly sought reserve being lOOOgns. and ranged to 45, 80 and 9ogns. A Louis mirror brought 20gns„ while some mahogany grandfather and grandmother chairs were knocked down at from £l6 to £2O each. Australian buyers spent £I6OO at the sale, and Auckland. Napier, Wairarapa, Wellington, Christchurch, and Central Otago were well represented.
