TRUCK DRIVER KILLED NEAR PAEKAKARIKI
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Mar. 7. A man died as a result of injuries received while driving on the main highway north of Wellington on Saturday night. He was Mr. W. J. L. Smith, Plimmerton. Apparently, when Mr. Smith was about three miles south of Paekakariki the light truck he was driving got out of control and struck the kerb. Mr. Smith, it is thought, struck his head or part of the cab. The left front wheel of the truck collapsed with the impact.
