NEW SALARY SCALES FOR MEDICAL OFFICERS
(P-A.) WELLINGTON, Mar. 4. New scales salaries are prescribed for full-time medical officers employed by hospital boards in a supplementary Gazette issued today. Yearly rates of salary for full-time medical superintendents-in-chief provide for a minimum of £2OOO and a maximum of £2250 in the case of Auckland and £I9OO and £2150 respectively in the case of Wellington. Medical superintendents’ salaries range from a minimum of £1250 to a maximum of £ISOO in the case of smaller hospitals, to a minimum of £1650 and a maximum of £I9OO in the case of Christchurch or Dunedin.
Three scales are provided for specialists ranging from minimums of £IOSO and £1750 and maximums ranging from £1350 to £2OOO.
Full time medical officers not otherwise provided for are covered in six scales ranging up to a maximum of £1550.
