Activities Of Gisborne Labour Party
There was a very large attendance of members at the (monthly meeting of the Gisborne Labour Party, held on Monday evening. Mr. A. Thomas presided. In opening the meeting, the president welcomed Mr. E. Kennedy, a former member of the Nuhaka branch of the Labour Party, and Mr. H. Thompson, of the Te Karaka branch. Mr.’ Thomai also welcomed several new members. Members decided to support the campaign which was being launched by the Health Department for the extermination of rats. Mrs. Tucker was thanked for giving the prize for the competition, which wa* won by Mrs. E. R. Scott. Mr. Thomas said the time had come when the party had to consider engaging a larger room for its meetings, a* the present room was too small. The matter was left to the president and secretary Mr R. A. Keeling addressed the meeting in interesting fashion on the activities of the Rotary Club. At the conclusion of his speech. Mr. Keeling answered several questions and was warmly thanked.
