PRODUCE MARKET: WELLINGTON RATES

There has been a particularly strong demand for all stone fruits on the Wellington market. Black Eoy peaches realising up to 21s per half-case and Golden Queens up to 18s, states the weekly report of Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Limited, fruit and produce merchants, Wellington. Omega and Doris plums were both in keen demand and sales were being made up to 16s 3d per half-case. Another strong sale was greengages at 19s per half-case. Cabbage, cauliflower, carrots and pumpkins were being keenly sought after and returns have proved most satisfactory. Prices:—Peaches, Hobbs, 18s; Black Bov, 15s to 21s; Queens. 14s to 18s; plums, Doris, 8s fid to 14s fid: Omega. 12s fid to 16s 3d; others 6s to 10s; tomatoes, round, 10s to 18s; ripe, 7s to 12s; coloured.
