15 OF MINDSZENTY’S ASSOCIATES STANDING TRIAL

(10.30 a.mfl) BUDAPEST, Feb. 28. The trial of 15 persons implicated in the activities of Cardinal Mindszenty, Catholic Primate of Hungary, opened to day in a People’s Court. Mindszenty was sentenced to life imprisonment and six other defendants received sentences, ranging from six years to life in the trial three weeks ago.

Those on trial today have been charged with black market currency dealings and having "been in the political conspiracy with those already sentenced.”

Those in the dock were three Roman Catholic priests, three bankers, eight brokers and merchants and the former secretary of Prince Paul Esterhazy, who has been sentenced to 15 years in orison.
