PERSONAL
MR. J. D. CAMPBELL, a retired marine engineer, Auckland, is visiting Gisborne. Mr. Campbell is particularly interested in the connection with Gisborne of the Star of Canada, as he watched the vessel sail from Auckland on her ill-fated voyage which ended on the rocks of Haiti Beach. LORD ROWALLAN, Empire Chief Scout, was given an enthusiastic civic welcome in Whangarei on Thursday night when a large audience assembled in the Town Hail, including Scouts, Guides. Cub and Brownies from all parts of Northland. The Chief Scout left for Dargaville yesterday. Later he will motor by way of the Waipoua State Forest to Russell, where a big jamboree of Northland Scouts is to be held during the week-end. —P.A.
