MONEY COLLECTED BY FALSE PRETENCES
(P.A.) PALMERSTON N„ Dec 21. Pleading guilty to a charge of soliciting subscriptions by falsely representing that she was collecting funds on behalf of the Crippled Children’s Society, Catherine M. Thodsen, married, Palmerston North, was admitted to probation for 12 months. It was stated that the accused went to Feilding and there collected money on behalf of the society without being authorised to do so. The amount recovered from her was £24, which the court ordered to be handed to the society. The accused, it was stated, had not been in trouble before.
