LOW CLOUD AT NORFOLK DELAYS AIR SERVICES
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 20. Low cloud over Norfolk Island caused a postponement in the National Airways Services from Auckland through Norfolk Island yesterday. The airfield on the island was closed from early on Saturday afternoon with a cloud ceiling of only 200 ft., but conditions are expected to clear today. Two services are affected by the postponement.
A Douglas aircraft which took off today for the island, on the weekly service was forced to turn back two hours out. Another National Airways Douglas from the Islands could not use Norfolk island as a staging base on the journey down and was delayed overnight at Nandi, Fiji. It is expected to arrive today.
