BABY OF ONLY 250 Z. BORN AT TAUMARUNUI
(P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH. Dec. 18. A premature baby weighing 250 z„ born at the Taumarunui Hospital at about 6 p.m. on Wednesday, was still alive last night. The birth is believed to have been premature by three months. The child is being fed with drops from a pipette. Though not a record in New Zealand, said a medical authority in Taranaki, the birth of a baby after a 26-week pregnancy and weighing so little was sufficiently rare to be remarkable, particularly so if the child survived.
