BURMA RICE FIELDS SET ON FIRE
(10.30 ami.) RANGOON, Dec. 16. Air passengers into Rangoon from the rice-distribution centres of Bassein reported that large areas of rice were on fire in the Delta, says the Associated Press.
Earlier reports said that Communists in the Delta had threatened to burn the new rice crop now being harvested.
