AWARDS PRESENTED TO SECOND COMPANY, BOYS BRIGADE
Awards, badges and certificates won during the year, were presented to members of the Second Gisborne Company of the Boys’ Brigade at an assembly in the Parish Hall this week. The boys presented a smart appearance in their black and white uniforms and were the subject of commendation, both from Canon A. F. Hall who presented the awards and from parents. A demonstration of the various activities of the brigade during the year was given by the boys. Mention was made of the annual camp to be held at Riminui station during the Christmas holidays, it being stated that the training would be greatly extended during this period. The King’s Badge, the highest honour which can be won by members of the Brigade, was presented to Staff Sergeant T. Weatherley, who was congratulated by Canon Hall on his award.
