PLASTIC SHOES LIKELY FOR BRUCE IN RACE FOR AUCKLAND CUP

When Mr. Scott Ramsay's galloper Bruce contests the Auckland Cup he may be shod with plastic racing shoes, which are expected to arrive in time bv air from America.
Bruce’s hooves are brittle and apt to break when nailed. Plastic shoes are glued on with a special solution. Bruce is expected to arrive by train tomorrow from Riccarton. His trainer, L. J. Ellis, arrives by air this afternoon.
