NEW EXECUTIVE FOR BLUFF HARBOUR BOARD
(P.A.) INVERCARGILL, Dec. 15. The Bluff Harbour Board last night appointed Mr. N. D. Cullen, Wanganui, as secretary and treasurer and chief executive officer in succession to Mr. R. N. Porter, who recently resigned. Mr. Cullen is at present treasurer to the Wanganui Harbour Board, having joined the staff there in 1934 as accountant and held that position until he joined the armed services in 1940. He served in the Middle East and gained a commission. He was officer in charge of a specialised unit in Italy at the close of the war with the rank of captain and went to England on a bursary to study harbour administration and costing. He is to take up his new duties next year.
