A stroup wind, heavy showers of rnin and hail yesterday made conditions unpleasant for People's Day at the Royal Show, The association was not insured against rain. Judging of some of the horse sections was postponed until today. The Minister of Agriculture, Mr, E. L. Cullen, oflicially opened the show, paying tribute to the organisers and the high standard of the exhibits. He emphasised the importance to Britain of the increased production of food.
