PIPELINE FROM MANGAPOIKE ALMOST READY FOR TESTING
"The contractor has almost completed re-laying the section of pipe-line washed out by the flood of May last. Waingake and the new Mangapoike dam should be linked up by the end of this week,” stated the engineer, Mr. G. M. Beaumont, at last night's meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council. Two creek crossings still required repairs before testing of the line could he carried out, continued the engineer. There were still many details to be attended to and testing to be done before the line could be put fully into service.
Present indications are that the pipe-line would be ready tor use soirn 1 - tinxe in January, concluded the engineer.
