R.N.Z.A.F. HONOURS FOR TOLAGA MAN: BURIAL TOMORROW
The Royal New Zealand Air Force will tender its full burial honours on the occasion of the burial of Navigator (I) H. G. F. Rennie at Tolaga Bay tomorrow morning.
The body of the late Mr. Rennie was recovered from the scene of the Ruahine air crash this week, and was to reach Gisborne this afternoon en route to Tolaga bay, transport having been arranged by Air Headquarters. A party of Air Force personnel will reach Gisborne tomorrow morning from Ohakea station, and will proceed by road transport to Tolaga Bay to take part in the funeral ceremonies, which will commence at the Presbytei'ian Church in Tolaga Bay at 11 a.m. The service personnel will provide pallbearers in connection with the burial. The Gisborne Retui'ned Services Association and the Gisborne branch of the New Zealand Air Force Association will be represented officially at the funeral, at which also a large body of returned men from East Coast areas will assemble. The burial is to take place in the Soldiers’ Plot at Tolaga Bay cemetery.
