TRAVEL IS CHEAPER THAN TAX
SYDNEY, Nov. 21. An Englishwoman. Mrs. Ethel Hope Walker, is finding it cheaper to travel round the world than pay 9s in the £1 property tax. She had sold her property at Cambridge rather than pay the tax, she said yesterday. lln Australia, property tax rises to a minimum of 15s in £1 on property incomes of £SOOO a year or more.J Mrs. Walker arrived in Sydney this week on the Nieuw Holland. She wants to see Australia before going on to New Zealand, then South America and the U.S. Extra pages have had to be added to her passport, which has been stampel in many countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. ■'Customs officials asked me to get a i new passport, but I couldn't," Mks. i Walker said.
