MR. J. HARDIE-NEIL, consulting otologist to the Cook Hospital Board, is visiting Gisborne this week.
THE RT. REV. N. A. LESSER, Bishop of V/aiapu, with Mrs. Lesser and their daughter, Elizabeth, is paying a brief visit to Gisborne.
MR. E. W. McENNIS was re-appointed as representative of the Gisborne Borough Council'on the Gisborne High School Board of Governors at last night’s meeting of the council.
MR. N. H. BULL, the Mayor, presided at last night's fortnightly meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council. There was a full council, other members present being Messrs. F. Tolerton, G. J. Jeune, G. D. Muirhend. R. Morse, I. J. Quigley. J H. Hall, W. C. Ivohn and Dr A. L. Singer.
DR A. L. SINGER was re-appointed at last night’s meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council, as the council's representative on the Gisborne-East Coast Regional Planning Council. Mr. G. J. Jeune was appointed deputy to Dr. Singer.
MR. W. SULLIVAN, delayed in New York by the longshoremen strike, has accepted the invitation of Senator Kefaurcr, U-S.A., to visit the hydro electric undertakings on the Tennessee Valley and also to view their irrigation schemes. He returns to England by air and connects with the Dominion Monarch arriving in New Zealand about January 21.
MR. G. G. TAYLOR, for the last year scientific attache to the New Zealand Embassy in Washington arrived at Auckland by air yesterday. He will resume his previous position in the Plant Diseases Division of the Department of Agriculture in Auckland.
MR J. R. HAIR presided at the monthly meeting of the P.B Catchment Board, hold yesterday at which were also present Messrs R. Graham, D. W. W. Williams. P. Ngata. 11. D. Chamberlain, E. A. Madden, E. W. McEnnis, C. L Cox. E. M. Monckton. R. Murphy, 11. J Lougher and 11. M. White.
