LEGION SHOOT AT SPONGE BAY RANGE
Four trophies were at stake on a shoot organised by the Gisborne Squadron. Legion of Frontiersmen, and held on the Sponge Bay range during the week-end. The George Carter Plaque, carrying the legion's coat-of-arms, was won by Cpl. P. Ingram in a practice at 200vds., the Walsh Cup by Frontiersman A Sinclair and the Alan Steele Cup and the Twistleton Memorial Cup by Lieut. T. Morgan, the last-named finishing the day at the top of the aggregates. The standard of scoring was not high, as members of the squadron have not had regular range practice in recent months. Details of the scoring among tho leading marksmen were:— Carter Plaque Match, 200yds.—Cpl. P. Ingram, 21; Lieut. T Morgan, 19; Sgt W. A. Sinton. 18: Frts. A. Sinclair, 16; Frts. W. Robinson, 15: Frts. G. Crosby, 14; Cpl. A. K. Graham, 14. Walsh Cun Match, 200yds.—Frts. Sinclair, 30; Lieut. Morgan, 28; Cpl. Ingram 24; Frts. Robinson. 23; Sgt. Sinton, 22; Cpl. Graham, 22; Frts. Crosby, 22. Alan Steele Cup Match, 300yds.— Lieut. Morgan, 30; Frts. Sinclair. 27; Cpl. Graham, 27; Sgt. Sinton, 27; Frts Crosby. 25; Cpl. Ingram, 22; Frts. Robinson, 18.
Twistleton Memorial Cup Match, 300yds.—Lieut. Morgan, 30; Sgt. Sinton. 28; Cpl Ingram, 28; Frts. Sinclair, 28; Frts. Crosby, 26; Cpl. Graham, 20; Frts Robinson, 18.
